State Sen. Turner to speak at Youngstown Black Caucus dinner

The Youngstown Warren Black Caucus announces that its sixth annual dinner Sept. 19 at the Mahoning Country Club, 710 Liberty St., will be a tribute to Ohio state Sen. Nina Turner.

A social hour will begin at 6 p.m., and the dinner program will start at 7.

Turner represents the 25th Senate District of Ohio and is the Democratic nominee for Ohio secretary of state.

She is an advocate for women’s rights, workers’ rights, civil rights and voter rights. She has received numerous awards and has been named the most effective state senator in the nation. She often appears on “The Ed Show” and other programs on MSNBC.

Tickets are $40 per person, and tables of eight may be reserved for $320.
