Region has lowest gas prices in Ohio
YOUNGSTOWN
The Youngstown-Warren region had the lowest average gas price in Ohio at $3.32 per gallon in an Aug. 25 survey from AAA.
That’s a dime cheaper than the state average of $3.42 per gallon.
The state average was up about 2 cents from the previous week, but is 11 cents cheaper than at this time last year.
The Ohio figure wasn’t far off the national average, which was listed at $3.44 on Aug. 25.
Gallagher’s Lunch Buffet opens at Oakhill building
YOUNGSTOWN
Gallagher’s Lunch Buffet is officially open inside the lower level of the Oakhill Renaissance Place building at 345 Oak Hill Ave.
This buffet was created by Golden String Inc. in collaboration with the Oakhill Renaissance nonprofit center and Mahoning County.
It will employ 25 people with disabilities through Golden String and the Purple Cat.
Light breakfast and lunches are on the menu and will be served from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Lawrence County group sets event

The Lawrence County Economic Development Corp. will have its annual dinner Sept. 9 at the New Castle Country Club.
This year includes a discussion on “The Real Estate Game in Lawrence County and Western PA.: What’s for sale and who’s buying.”

Vertical Runner celebrates its grand opening
MCDONALD
Vertical Runner of McDonald, a running specialty store at 241 E. Marshall Road in McDonald, celebrated its grand opening Saturday.
Vertical Runner of McDonald is the fifth national location.
This location employs five and is staffed with active runners. It also maintains a website at www.verticalrunnermcdonald.com, which includes information for the new runner, as well as a race schedule for local events ranging from 5k fun runs to full marathons.
The store carries Saucony, Mizuno, Adidas, Asics and Pearl Izumi brand shoes.
Ohio ranks sixth for beer industry jobs
WASHINGTON D.C.
Ohio ranks sixth for the most jobs in the beer industry, according to the Beer Institute — a national trade association for the American brewing industry.
In Ohio, making, distributing and selling beer provides more than 82,000 jobs, pays nearly $3 billion in wages, contributes $1.9 billion in federal, state and local taxes and has a total economic impact topping $10 billion, according to the institute.
