Tuscarawas Central Catholic 25, Lowellville 10

NEW PHILADELPHIA

Lowellville’s Alex Harklerode passed for 74 yards and Phil Ginnis rushed for 60 in the Rockets’ loss. After trailing 14-0 early, Harklerode found Ginnis for a 61-yard touchdown strike. The Rockets (0-1) later added a field goal.

Shenango 23, Western Beaver 22

INDUSTRY, PA.

Shenango kicker Dylan Kleckner converted a 20-yard field goal as time expired to defeat Western Beaver by the slimmest of margins. Hunter Waskin had five carries for 108 yards for the Wildcats (1-0), including a 92-yard touchdown run. After trailing 14-13 at the half, Shenango’s Jason Wallace gave the Wildcats the lead with a 38-yard score. They had 294 yards on the ground in the game. A late Western Beaver (0-1) score set up the game-winning field goal.

Goals from Zach Stamp and Andrew Gable lifted Boardman over Perry. Brian Fryda had three saves, while Kevin Durkin had one. JV: Boardman 5-0.

STRUTHERS

Myles Harris and Jack Brennan each scored for Mooney (3-1). Dustin Hudak added 10 saves for the Cardinals. Christopher Thomas scored for Akron Hoban.

Girls Soccer

Lakeview 4, Boardman 0

CORTLAND

Rachel Braunegg had three goals, Sam Yanci had a goal and Abby Pavlik recorded three assists for Lakeview (3-1). Camille Holzschuh had 13 saves for Boardman. JV: Boardman 3-0.

Cardinal Mooney 13, United 0

STRUTHERS

Julie Vazquez had seven goals, Lexy Herman had three goals and Liz Philibin had a goal and four assists for Cardinal Mooney.

North Royalton 2, Austintown Fitch 1

NORTH ROYALTON

Jackie Muccio scored and Soriya Rezapourian had six saves but it wasn’t enough for Fitch (3-1-1). Alex Rechner and Maggie Tyma scored for North Royalton (2-1-1). JV: North Royalton, 4-1.

Oil City 1, West Middlesex 0

WEST MIDDLESEX, PA.

Savannah King scored midway through the second half to give Oil City the win.

Volleyball

Springfield 25-25-25, Champion 6-13-13

CHAMPION

Ashley Naylor and Summer Fassnacht each had five assists for Champion. The Flashes (1-3) also got four kills from both Andie Sparks and Lauren Holt. JV: Springfield, 2-0.
