Mercer County | ‘Pedal the Lakes’ bike ride set Sept. 13

GREENVILLE, PA.
Mercer County Trails Association Inc.’s 18th annual “Pedal the Lakes” bicycle ride will take place Sept.13, rain or shine.
The event will begin and end at the Greenville Rec Center, 45 Alan Ave.
There will be limited gym space and unlimited outside camping, both for free, available Sept. 12.
Free live music and refreshments will be offered all day at the Rec Center.
Pedal the Lakes will benefit the Trails Association and its mission to create multi-use recreational trails in Mercer and neighboring counties in western Pennsylvania.
Registration begins at 7 a.m. and closes at 10 a.m. at the Rec Center.
The bike ride will travel throughout western Pennsylvania, giving riders views of the Amish countryside, several lakes and, depending on the length of a participant’s trip, a view of the Linesville Spillway.
There are routes available for bikers of all skill levels, with 10-, 32-, 50-, 65-, 100- and 125-mile routes; all routes will provide snacks, drinks and a hot lunch.
Support vehicles will patrol the course, but participants are urged to make sure their bicycle is in good working order; riders are encouraged to bring tubes, patches, tools and pumps. Helmets are required.
