Harrington, Hoppe & Mitchell Ltd. announced law firm lawyer Vito J. Abruzzino has been promoted from captain to major in the Army Reserves Judge Advocate General Corps.
Abruzzino is a senior defense counsel, responsible for a team of lawyers who defend service-members accused of or being investigated for misconduct. He is a member of the 154th Legal Operations Detachment, which is based in Arlington, Va., and has members throughout the U.S. Abruzzino joined HHM in 2013 and is based in the firm’s Salem office. His practice areas include military law, oil and gas law, criminal law and family law.
OHIO OIL AND GAS
Thomas E. Stewart, executive vice president of Ohio Oil and Gas Association, announced Shawn Bennett joined the association as senior vice president.
In his new role, Bennett will contribute to OOGA’s advocacy and public-policy efforts on behalf of the association’s more than 3,300 members and assist with managing day-to-day operations. Previously, Bennett served as director of Energy In Depth-Ohio, a grass-roots advocacy, research and education initiative organized in support of responsible oil and gas development.

Joseph J. DePascale, president of Farmers Trust Co., recently obtained the CPA personal financial specialist designation. A personal financial specialist is a certified public accountant who meets the financial planning requirements established by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. The credential is awarded to CPAs who demonstrate the requisite experience, education, examination and ethical standards established by the AICPA.
DePascale has more than 20 years of public accounting and trust experience.
