Eckenrodes mark 50th anniversary

BOARDMAN

Robert T. and Marie A. Eckenrode of Boardman celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Aug. 24 with a luncheon at Caffe Capri.

The event was hosted by the couple’s children, Robert Eckenrode of Youngstown and Tina M. Eckenrode-Bako of Boardman, and brother and sister-in-law Clark and Deborah Eckenrode.

The couple have one grandchild.

Mrs. Eckenrode, the former Marie A. Gabriel, retired in 1984 from Weatherbee Coats in Youngstown, where she was a floor supervisor. She is a member of St. Maron Church and its Over 50 Club, and she is a bingo worker.

Mr. Eckenrode retired from CSX Railroad in Youngstown, where he was a brakeman. He is a member of St. Maron’s and a Panera breakfast club. He served in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper in the 101st Unit.

The couple were married Aug. 24, 1964, in Youngstown.
