Rise Pies to open its first location

Rise Pies will officially open its first location in Boardman at 439 Boardman-Poland Road. The ribbon-cutting will take place at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.

There will be a public grand opening next Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. featuring giveaways.

Customers can create their own pizza for as little as $4.99 to be ready in less than three minutes. Diners can choose from a menu of specially crafted pizzas or select their own dough, sauce, cheeses, meats and vegetables to create a one-of-a-kind pie.

In addition to the first Boardman location, Rise Pies is set to open a second location at the new University Town Center in Sarasota, Fla., in October and has additional lease contracts lined up around the country.

Ribbon-cutting for Cool Rides

CORTLAND

The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber and Mike Jones, co-owner of Cool Rides, are having a ceremonial ribbon-cutting for the business, 3064 Elm Road, at 10 a.m. Thursday.

Cool Rides features cars from the 1940s to the 1970s including trucks, sports cars, cruisers, American classics, such as Corvettes, and European cars.

Cool Rides also has a “Cars and Coffee” gathering the first Saturday of every month.

5th Law of Shale Plays Conference

Pittsburgh

The 5th Law of Shale Plays Conference will take place Thursday and Friday at the Omni Hotel, 530 William Penn Place.

Presented by the Institute for Energy Law and the Energy and Mineral Law Foundation, the event highlights a luncheon featuring a conversation with Rudy Giuliani along with seminars that discuss several aspects of the shale industry.

Farmers extends buy-back program

CANFIELD

Farmers National Banc Corp. is extending its voluntary Odd Lot Buy Back program through Sept. 30. Under the program, the company is offering to purchase shares from shareholders who own 99 or fewer of the company’s common shares on or after July 29.

Brewery announces Ohio distributor

YOUNGSTOWN

SweetWater Brewing announced that Superior Beverage Group will distribute its beers locally throughout northern and central Ohio. SweetWater’s current distribution footprint covers the southeastern U.S.

A crew from SweetWater will make its way around the area with sampling celebrations and sponsored events kicking off the week of Oct. 6 in Columbus, and the week of Oct. 13 for Cleveland, Canton, Akron, Youngstown and surrounding markets.
