YOUNGSTOWN

Bishop George V. Murry of the Diocese of Youngstown has appointed the Rev. Gerald DeLucia as parochial vicar of St. Charles Borromeo Church in Boardman. This appointment is in addition to his duties as president of Cardinal Mooney High School.

After ordination June 17, 1978, he served on the faculty at Cardinal Mooney. He was parochial vicar at St. Paul Church in Salem, Holy Family Church in Poland and St. Nicholas Church, now Christ Our Savior Parish, in Struthers and St. Columba Cathedral.

Father DeLucia served as pastor of St. Paul Church, Holy Rosary Parish in Lowellville, St. Rose of Lima Church and St. Lucy Church, now Christ the Good Shepherd Parish in Campbell. He also served as chaplain at St. Elizabeth Health Center, Youngstown.

Father DeLucia was pastoral director at Catholic Television Network of Youngstown and diocesan director of Hispanic Ministry.

Tent meetings

The Log Cabin Church, 565 N. Canfield-Niles Road, will host Gospel tent meetings from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday and Sept. 6 and 7.

Guest speakers will include Pastor Carl Blakeman from Come Alive Ministries and Dr. Ernie DePasquale of Crossing Paths.

Anniversary concert

Monument of Faith Church of God in Christ, 2165 Highland Ave., will mark the 25th anniversary of the Mass choir at 5 p.m. Sunday.

The theme is “Bigger and Brighter.”

Appreciation event

An appreciation celebration for Elder Charles Robinson Jr., assistant pastor of New Jerusalem Church of God in Christ, 1701 Moravia St., will be at 4 p.m. Sept. 7.

Guest speaker will be Elder Emmitt Nevels Jr. of Youngstown along with musical guests.

Various ministries and churches will unite for a night of praise and worship from 5:30 to 10 p.m. at Sept. 6 in the Lariccia Family Community Center Building at Boardman Township Park.
