Music fest for children’s hospital

The inaugural Rock for Kids music festival will be Sept. 14 at the Magic Tree Pub and Eatery, 7463 South Ave.

The event, which will run from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., will feature live music, food and prizes. It will benefit the children helped by the programs and services at Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley.

Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door. For more information, go to akronchildrens.org/rockforkids.

Performing will be Haymaker, Graphic Pink, the Huckin’ Fillbillys, the Gary Markasky Project, No Xcuse, Fetish, Glitter Pig, Christine Witt and Bobby Fritz, and Army of 2.

Akron Children’s never turns a child away because of a family’s inability to pay, and the festival will help ensure this policy.
