YOUNGSTOWN
Open forums are set next week for the finalists for provost and vice president for academic affairs for Youngstown State University.
The finalists are Dr. David Starrett, Southeast Missouri State University; Dr. Graham Glynn, Mercy College; Dr. Nathan Ritchey, Edinboro University of Pennsylvania; and Dr. Cheryl Torsney, University of Texas at El Paso.
Each candidate will have two time slots for the open forums in the board meeting room on the first floor of Tod Hall from 9 to 9:45 a.m. and 3 to 3:45 p.m. Tuesday through next Friday. Faculty, staff, students, and community members are invited to attend.
Starrett is here Tuesday; Glynn on Wednesday; Ritchey on Thursday; and Torsney next Friday.
According to Vindicator archives, the search for a new provost was put on hold until YSU President Jim Tressel could become acclimated to his new role and familiarize himself with faculty. That decision was made in May, and Ikram Khawaja, who had been provost/vice president for academic affairs for several years, retired June 30.
