Heartland Christian 25-25-25, Ursuline 11-23-14

COLUMBIANA

Kristen Osborn Heartland (5-1) with 24 kills and added 11 digs, while Madison Chapman had 15 points and four aces and Jacquelyn Chapman had nine points, seven kills and four blocks. Bonnie Flynn had 17 digs, 10 points and four kills and Judy Burgess had 31 assists. Ursuline was led by Alero Burzynski with 17 digs and 10 points, Korree Cotton with nine digs and Zoelyn Lazor with seven kills.

Canfield 25-25-25, Hubbard 23-23-21

CANFIELD

Morgan Leonard had 10 kills, Janie Rafoth had 37 assists and 14 digs and Rachel Rafoth had 28 digs in Canfield’s victory. Hubbard was led by Macey Sarisky seven seven kills and four blocks, Caitlin O’Hara with four kills and five blocks and Kiana Martinez with nine digs. JV: Canfield, 24-26, 25-6, 25-17.

Boardman 25-25-25, Howland 18-17-15

HOWLAND

Courtney Platt led the Spartans (4-2) with 20 digs and 14 points in a road victory. Krista Johnson had 10 kills and Hope Landers had nine, while Katie Platt led Boardman with 33 assists. The Tigers (3-2) were led by Christian Carr with nine kills and eight digs, Lexi Miner with 13 assists and Cassie Murcko with three blocks. Heather Tutoki scored three points.

Lakeview 25-25-23-25, Fitch 14-19-25-19

CORTLAND

The Bulldogs (3-0) picked up 10 kills and two blocks each from Whitney Winch and Anne Pavlansky, while Hannah Rogers and Taylor Casassa each scored 11 points. Carly Casassa and Taylor Casassa each had three aces and Madison Buch had 11 digs. Laney Lytle had 40 assists. The Falcons (1-2) were led by Sarah O’Bradovich with 15 kills, two blocks and three aces, while Katarina Lewis added 10 assists and seven points and Alex Conners had 21 digs.

LaBrae 25-25-25, Champion 19-18-16

CHAMPION

The visiting Vikings swept the Golden Flashes. Andie Sparks and Amber Ricci each had four kills for Champion (1-2). Ashley Naylor had six assists and Summer Fassnacht had five for the Golden Flashes. Ricci had 10 digs, Fassnacht had nine and Sparks had eight. No statistics were reported for LaBrae. JV: LaBrae, 25-11, 25-17.

BOARDMAN

Morgan Leonard had 10 kills, Janie Rafoth had 35 assists and Maddie Johns had 10 kills for Canfield (5-1) in a victory Wednesday. For Boardman (3-2), Krista Johnson had 10 kills, Courtney Platt had 35 digs and Katie Platt had 33 assists.

Brookfield 21-18-25-25-15, Newton Falls 25-25-21-13-11

NEWTON FALLS

Delaney Saxton had 26 kills, 18 digs, and four aces to lead Brookfield to a come back win. Madison Bonekovic had 14 digs for the Warriors. Sadie Sutton had 35 digs and 19 points, while Kate Wainwright had 38 assists and 19 digs for the Tigers. JV: Brookfield 2-1.

Girls Soccer

Badger 8, Lordstown 0

KINSMAN

Holly Masters scored five goals and had two assists for Badger (2-2). Taylor Kramer and Samantha Greathouse also scored for Badger. Sara Ginkinger had 11 saves for Lordstown.

Warren JFK 8, Sharpsville 1

WARREN

Nina Macali scored three goals and Aundrea Scattino, Genie Orlosky, Alenna Merlo, Antonella LaMonica and Shannon Noark each added a goal for the Eagles (4-1), who led 8-0 at halftime. Flora Commisso of Sharpsville (0-1) had the only second-half goal. Warren JFK goalkeepers Liz Kellar (two) and Lauren Neopolitan (six) combined for eight saves.

BOYS SOCCER

Ursuline 4, West Branch 1

YOUNGSTOWN

Gianni Quattro scored twice and teammates Mark Fusillo and John Hintz added goals for the Irish after a scoreless first half. Alec Schopfer scored for the Warriors. Ursuline’s Trey Roller had eight saves and West Branch’s Zachary Minich had seven. JV: West Branch, 2-1.

Lakeview 5, Hubbard 4

HUBBARD

Matt Pasternak scored four of Lakeview’s five goals in its win over Hubbard. Jackson Gagne, Zac White, and Tyler White combined to make eight saves for the Bulldogs (2-1-0). Nick Battaglia scored a hat trick for Hubbard (4-1-0) in the loss.
