Man, 52, drowns at Moraine State Park beach

PORTERSVILLE, Pa.

Authorities are investigating the drowning of a 52-year-old man at Moraine State Park.

According to Vindicator broadcast partner, 21 WFMJ TV, the manager of the Butler County park said the New Wilmington man went under water while swimming near Lakeview Beach at about 2 p.m. Thursday afternoon. Rescue crews tried to revive the victim, who was part of a group from a care facility spending the day at the park, but were unsuccessful.

The identity of the victim was not disclosed Thursday night.
