Lowellville traffic violation leads to drug arrest


LOWELLVILLE

Lowellville police arrested Dylan Thomas Johnston, 22 of Edinburg, Pa., at 7:48 p.m. Thursday for possession of drugs. Officers observed a green vehicle by Jackson Street fail to come to a complete stop. The driver identified himself as Johnston and police reported he did not have a valid drivers license.

Officers proceeded to search the vehicle and detected a strong odor of marijuana in the console between the driver and passenger seats. Police found a plastic bag with five suspected marijuana cigarettes and a plastic bag with suspected marijuana.

The passenger, a minor, and driver were transported to the Lowellville police department, and the green vehicle was towed. The driver was arrested and transported to the Struthers police department to post bond. Johnston is scheduled for a court appearance at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in Struthers.
