Victorian season opens with 'You Can't Take it With You'

The Victorian Players will begin its 2014-15 season with the comedy “You Can’t Take it With You.”

The production opens Friday and will run for nine performances over three consecutive weekends, ending Sept. 14. The theater is at 702 Mahoning Ave.

“You Can’t Take it With You” tells the story of an eccentric family that lives just around the corner from Columbia University in New York. It is set during a week in the summer of 1936.

The cast includes Gerri Jenkins, Carlos Rivera, Joyce Jenkins, Greg Endsley, Marisa Keshock, Cher Halas, James Hain, Robert Joliff, Ezekiel Ellis, Tom Smith, Lindsey Pratt, Christopher Haddock, Stephen Kountz, Taylor Ann, Jimmy Rosen, Chloe Housteau, Brian West and Brian K. Drew.

Co-directors are Jenkins and Smith. Stage manager is Brittiani Ketcham, and costume designer is Marlene Menaldi Strollo.

Curtain times are 7:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. on Sundays. Tickets are $12 ($9 for seniors 62 and up and students with ID). Call 330-746-5455 for reservations.
