OSU Extension experts will be at the Canfield Fair
CANFIELD
Ohio State University Extension experts will be available at the Canfield Fair from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. each day to answer your questions and share information.
Stop by to see the staff and expert volunteers to ask questions.
The fair opened Wednesday, with an official opening ceremony today, and runs through Monday.
The booth this year will focus on the 100th birthday of extension. You might see your photo in one of the “Celebration of Decades of Extension” in a large timeline in Building 44.
Learn about the history of OSU Extension in Mahoning County and share your memories of its storied past.
As part of the celebration, and in true extension form, staff will be sharing the truth about “Myths & Legends.”
Questions such as “Can you can green beans with just a hot water bath?” “Is it OK to use baking soda as a fungicide?” “Are invasive plants a real problem, or is it overrated?” “Is there more to 4-H than livestock?” will be answered.
The interactive displays are examples of how OSU Extension research enhances the lives of Ohioans.
Live, hands-on sessions will be conducted each day.
From hydrangeas to healthy living, there is a lot of information to share.
For the kids, there are STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) activities each day.
Youths can get involved in these mini-experiments every day at 3 p.m.
And, for fun, there will be a photo booth from 1 to 3 p.m. each day.
