OSU’s Meyer: Surgery on Miller successful

COLUMBUS

Ohio State coach Urban Meyer says that quarterback Braxton Miller’s surgery went well.

Miller, a two-time Big Ten player of the year, tore the labrum in his right throwing shoulder on Aug. 18 in practice.

He had initially injured his shoulder in last year’s Orange Bowl loss to Clemson, then had surgery in February and missed spring workouts. He returned to the team and reinjured the shoulder during preseason camp.

Meyer, speaking on the Big Ten coach’s teleconference, says Miller sent him a picture after the surgery was completed Tuesday in Florida.
