Pa. "Bachelor' contestant returns to teach third grade

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. (AP) — A Wilkes-Barre teacher who appeared in two reality TV dating shows during the last school year has returned to the district and is teaching third-graders.

The Citizens’ Voice newspaper reported today that Wilkes-Barre Area School District said Elise Mosca was on the job at Kistler Elementary after a request for a third leave of absence was rejected earlier this month.

Mosca appeared on “The Bachelor” and “Bachelor in Paradise” since January.

The 28-year-old Mosca didn’t return a call from the newspaper seeking comment. She’s been a district teacher since 2009.

The newspaper says district officials didn’t know she intended to be on “The Bachelor” when the board approved the first of two unpaid leaves in September. The district generally allows unpaid leave of up to two years.
