Campbell water bill delinquents to lose service

CAMPBELL

The city plans to shut off service to delinquent water accounts.

Judith Clement, Campbell’s director of administration, described a delinquent account as any account that either missed multiple payments or frequently asked for payment extensions. The city gave any delinquent account until 5 p.m. Monday to pay its water bill.

Clement said the city notified people who had delinquent accounts of this deadline in the middle of June, along with posting signs around town. She said she has seen more people coming to city hall to pay bills the past week.

“There have been larger amounts [of people] coming out,” she said. “Plus, our evening deposit box has been full.”

Clement said the city will not start turning off unpaid delinquent water accounts until Thursday. She said people with delinquent accounts who have not paid can pay before that date to keep their water running.

Payments can be made at Campbell City Hall, 351 Tenney Ave., in cash or checks. Credit cards are not accepted. A night drop box is available.
