Late-night funny guy Seth Meyers is our host for the annual gala that celebrates the medium’s artistic achievements while conveniently overlooking the awful fare such as “Naked Dating.” He promises a “fun and upbeat” evening, but the losers might not necessarily agree.

“King of Cones” (8 p.m., Food Network): There’s only one thing that might divert our attention from the Emmy show: ice cream! On tonight’s “King of Cones,” the chefs chill out with flavorful creations inspired by rock ’n’ roll and the rodeo.

Nichols coming to Stambaugh

YOUNGSTOWN

Country music artists Joe Nichols and Josh Thompson will come to Stambaugh Auditorium, 1000 Fifth Ave., on Nov. 2 for a 7 p.m. concert. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday at the auditorium box office, by phone at 330-259-0555 and online at stambaughauditorium.com.

Nichols’ latest song to top the charts, “Yeah,” off his album, “Crickets,” was his second-consecutive No. 1 single after “Sunny and 75.”

His previous chart-toppers include “Gimme That Girl” (2010), “Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off” (2005), and “Brokenheartsville” (2003).

‘Evil Dead’ tickets

“Evil Dead — The Musical” will come to the Ohio Theater at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 21 and 22. Tickets are on sale at playhousesquare.org.

The saucy comic musical tells the story of five friends who unleash an evil force while spending an weekend in an abandoned cabin in the woods.

The first two rows are the “splatter zone,” where audience members will get covered in fake blood.
