Pioneer fest seeks artisans, crafters

Staff report

EAST LIVERPOOL

Crafters and artisans are being sought for Pioneer Craft days, an annual festival in the Pioneer Village of Beaver Creek State Park. This year’s event will take place Oct. 4 and 5.

Demonstrators of old-time crafts such as basket making, candle dipping, quilting, dulcimer building and other woodworking skills are being sought to be part of the event. There is also space available for new crafters at the outdoor festival.

All items sold by crafters must be at least 80 percent hand-crafted. Period costumes for crafters are requested but not required. Last year’s crafters are reminded that Aug. 31 is the deadline to pay for a craft site if they wish to keep the same spot.

Antique vendors are welcome, but only authentic antiques are permitted.

Friends of Beaver Creek State Park, which organzis the festival, is also seeking an organization to make and sell apple butter on site. Only quality handcrafted items will be accepted; home party businesses do not meet the criteria of the festival.

There will also be an area for antique farm equipment displays.
