Project Young Hollywood — which aims to lure movie makers to the Mahoning Valley — will have a booth at the Canfield Fair to introduce itself to the community and to provide information, said Fred D’Amico, who is the leader of the effort.

The group is attempting to put together a package of incentives to entice filmmakers, said D’Amico. To learn more, go to projectyounghollywood.org.

The group also is seeking investors for movie projects that would be filmed in the region. It is currently attempting to land a comedy, tentatively titled “Youth Group,” starring Stephen Baldwin, Kevin Sorbo and Thor Ramsey. The film has a $1.5 million budget.

Interested persons can get more info by emailing D’Amico at sponsors@projectyounghollywood.org.

Meetings with potential investors will take place Sept. 4 and 5, and Baldwin will attend the meetings, said John McGalliard, manager and producing partner for Baldwin.

“Youth Group” is a Christian faith-related romantic comedy, said McGalliard.

Project Young Hollywood is also compiling a list of people interested in working on locally made films, either as actors, directors, writers or trained crew. More information can be obtained by emailing join@projectyounghollywood.org.
