A summary of recent criminal activity in Hubbard, Liberty and Girard:

HUBBARD

Aug. 15

Arrest: Police responded to a vehicle having flipped over on North Main Street before charging 32-year-old Mark Zackasee of Cohasset Street, Hermitage, Pa., with operating a vehicle impaired and without reasonable control. Zackasee had a blood-alcohol count of 0.205, more than twice the legal limit, a report showed.

Aug. 16

Animal complaint: Officers received a complaint that a loose dog was in a yard in the 100 block of Corll Street. The homeowner said the same animal had attacked his dog on a previous occasion.

Arrest: John W. Trickett of Stewart Street, Hubbard, was taken into custody in the 300 block of Christian Avenue. The 46-year-old man was wanted on a warrant.

Fraud: A Ruth Drive man told police that he met with and agreed to pay a Poland company $100 to seal his driveway before returning home to learn that his elderly mother, with whom he resides, had written a $3,800 check for the work. Another man was thought to have been caught on a bank surveillance camera cashing the check, a report said.

Aug. 17

Arrest: Natalie N. Fields, 37, was taken into custody during a traffic stop near Moore Street when police learned that Fields, of Main Street, Mineral Ridge, was wanted on a Delaware County, Ohio, warrant.

Aug. 19

Harassment: A First Street woman said she received such phone messages that were threatening and abusive in nature.

LIBERTY

Aug. 15

Aggravated menacing: A Townsend Avenue woman alleged two of her former neighbors and two other people threatened her life.

Arrest: Youngstown police in the 2700 block of Belmont Avenue handed 21-year-old Jazmin N. Wilkins of Crandall Avenue, Youngstown, to township authorities. Wilkins was wanted on a Girard Municipal Court warrant.

Robbery: Tajuana R. Deleon, 38, of Covington Street, Youngstown, faced a robbery charge after $96 worth of merchandise was stolen from Walmart, 200 Goldie Road. Deleon also was in a scuffle with a loss-prevention official who tried to detain her, which resulted in an injury to the official, police said.

Stolen property: A charge of receiving stolen property was pending against a Youngstown woman, 26, who reportedly stole a car battery from a neighbor and sold it for scrap to Cleveland Auto Wrecking Co. Inc., 2700 Youngstown-Hubbard Road.

Identity fraud: An elderly Beverly Hills Drive woman reported having received a suspicious letter, supposedly from the Ohio Department of Taxation, stating that her 2013 income-tax return was under review, even though she had never filed a state return.

Domestic violence: Ireland L. McGrew, 40, of Mineral Springs Avenue, Youngstown, was charged with the crime after authorities responded to a possible assault at a Motor Inn Drive motel. A woman alleged that McGrew had struck her head and near her left ear during a heated argument pertaining to money.

Theft: A Girard woman noticed an envelope containing $1,300 was missing after having patronized a Belmont Avenue gas station.

Drugs: Officers in the 3000 block of Green Acres Drive charged 22-year-old Terrance C. Mackie with marijuana possession and criminal trespassing after alleging Mackie, of Butler Street, Youngstown, had handed them a suspected marijuana cigar. Also, the owner of a piece of rental property told police Mackie was on his property, despite having been advised not to return.

Aug. 16

Arrest: Authorities picked up Christopher M. Minadeo, 30, near Hadley Avenue. Minadeo, of Ulp Street, Masury, was wanted on Youngstown warrants, including a charge of fleeing and eluding police.

Arrest: Austintown authorities transferred custody of 40-year-old Thomas L. Robinson to Liberty police. Robinson, of Kirk Road, Canfield, was wanted on township warrants charging assault, aggravated menacing, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

Theft: A Fifth Avenue man discovered two bottles of medication valued at $600 had been removed from his car.

Aug. 17

Breaking and entering/damage: Someone entered a building in the 5000 block of West Liberty Street, spray-painted two racing cars and stole various tools and more than 1,500 pounds of copper.

Counterfeit: An employee with a business in the 3100 block of Belmont Avenue who was selling a cellphone for $100 told police that the would-be buyer handed him fake money before fleeing in a vehicle. The accuser did not lose the phone, however.

Theft/drugs: Michael L. Palumbo of Keefer Road, Girard, was charged with theft as well as possession of drug paraphernalia and marijuana after merchandise was stolen from Walmart. The 31-year-old Palumbo also admitted having a suspected marijuana pipe; in addition, 11 grams of suspected marijuana was in his vehicle, authorities said.

Aug. 18

Burglary: To a residence in the 200 block of East Liberty Street when a rear door was forcibly entered, though it appeared that nothing was missing.

Theft: Hazem K. Ruyyashi, 23, of East Montrose Avenue, Liberty, faced a theft charge after his former girlfriend alleged Ruyyashi had taken her car keys and wallet, then refused to return the items.

Theft: Police apprehended and charged 18-year-old Keelan M. Davis of Mansell Drive, Liberty, with one count of theft after receiving information that three people had entered a vehicle near Holly Drive. Wallets, a bag of clothing and other items were recovered when Davis admitted he and two others had committed similar crimes on Fifth Avenue as well as Aurora, Beverly Hills and Ventura drives, a report stated.

Burglary: Occurred in the 3000 block of Northgate Road, though police found no signs of forced entry. Stolen was a 32-inch TV.

Aug. 19

Domestic violence: Ira W. Edwards, 61, of Gypsy Lane, Youngstown, faced a felony domestic-violence charge after a woman alleged that during an argument, Edwards had struck her with a plastic lawn chair and pushed her while she was on a balcony, causing the accuser to nearly fall down a flight of steps. The charge was upgraded because of a prior conviction, a report showed.

GIRARD

Aug. 17

Arrest: Police responded to a disturbance in the 200 block of East Main Street, where they charged Alexis A. Graziano, 23, of Dravis Street, Girard, with disorderly conduct while intoxicated. An intoxicated Graziano continually screamed profanities at two people, caused a neighborhood disturbance and refused to leave the residence, authorities said.

Criminal mischief: An officer on routine patrol near North Market and West Liberty streets noticed that a sport utility vehicle had a smashed windshield. A short time later, the officer took another such report.

Harassment: A South Market Street man said he received multiple unwanted text messages.

Theft: A woman who moved out of state from a South Davis Street apartment alleged that another woman stole a washing machine and dryer, a dinette set and other property the accuser had left, then sold the items online.

Aug. 18

Forgery: A Hazel Avenue man alleged his former girlfriend forged his signature on an affidavit.

Harassment: An Ella Street woman told officers someone had threatened to come to her home and harm people with baseball bats, apparently in reference to an argument about her dog.

Aug. 19

Arrest: Anthony Kuhnheim, 47, was taken into custody at his Idaho Avenue home. The Girard man was wanted on a Niles warrant.

Criminal mischief: Three glass-block windows were broken at a park near Elruth Court. The damage estimate was $500.

Arrest: Police arrested 46-year-old Christopher Smith of Girard at his East Howard Street residence. He was wanted on a city warrant.

Arrest: Officers who reported having found a man lying in an Abbey Street front yard arrested 38-year-old Jayson Gromley of East Second Street, Girard, on a warrant charging failure to appear in court.

Aug. 20

Arrest: Authorities near South State and East Second streets picked up 29-year-old Luke Derrico of Girard, who was wanted on a warrant.
