Reserved football seats on sale

Reserved seat tickets for the Canfield High School varsity football season are on sale now in the school’s athletic office weekdays from 7:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. The five home game ticket packages cost $40 each. For more information, call 330-533-5341.

Boys golf defeated

The Canfield boys golf team took eighth place with a score of 348 at the 2014 Canfield Invitational on Aug. 18 at Tippecanoe Country Club. Team scores were Boardman (318), Green (327), Cardinal Mooney (332), Austintown Fitch (335), Aurora (336), Poland (337), Stow (344), Canfield Black (348), Nordonia (349), Girard (354) and East Liverpool (354), Akron St. Vincent St. Mary (356), Struthers (374), Beaver Local (383), Canfield Red (402), Conneaut (407) and Champion (408).

Boys and girls golf clinics

The Canfield Boys Golf Team is hosting golf clinics for girls and boys in grades 3-8. Aug. 29 from 5-7 p.m. will be a short game and fundamentals at Diamondback Golf Course. Sept. 8 from 5-7 p.m. will be full swing instruction at Chippers Driving Range (State Route 46) The cost is $20 for one session or $30 for both sessions. Boys golf topples Struthers

The Canfield boys golf team defeated Struthers on Aug. 13 at Tippecanoe golf course with a score of 180-192. Top players for Canfield include Vince Ieone (44), Charlie Loomis (47), Mike Pacifico (45), Ben Shoman (49), Andrew Letscher (44) and Anthony Pacifico (50).

Girls golf defeats Boardman

The Canfield girls golf team defeated Boardman on Aug. 12 at Diamond Back Golf Course with a score of 162-167. Top playrs for Canfield included Kerra Loomis (36), Christina Cooper (37), Kaci Carpenter (41) and Gillian Cerimele (48).

Neighbors wants fall sports news

It’s fall sports season. Neighbors wants to be there every step of the way. If you’re a summer sports coach or the parent of an athlete, we need you help. In order to get teams and players the recognition they deserve, we want to showcase them in our pages. We can only do that if you commit to sending us game reports and photos each week. If you send it, it will get in.

The sports news we’re looking for ranges from varsity high school teams down to middle school and even elementary and recreational leagues.
