AUSTINTOWN
Angelica J. Sturkie will spend five days in the Mahoning County jail for her role in an altercation with her ex-boyfriend last month.
Sturkie, 24, of Wickliffe Circle, took a plea deal Wednesday in Mahoning County Area Court. She pleaded guilty to amended charges of criminal trespass and disorderly conduct, both misdemeanors.
After her guilty pleas, Judge David D’Apolito fined her $440 and gave her an eight-day jail sentence. He gave her credit for the three days she served in jail after her arrest and before she was able to post bond.
She will begin her five-day jail sentence at 9 a.m. Aug. 29.
According to township police reports, Sturkie and the victim had been living at 59 Kenmar Court, but in court, her lawyer said both had vacated that home. Officers were called to the home at 7:40 p.m. July 26 on a report of an altercation between a man and woman.
The man said Sturkie forced her way in and assaulted him. A neighbor also told authorities he saw Sturkie force her way into the residence.
Sturkie told police she had taken her belongings from the home earlier that day, but returned for her passport and was not allowed in. She also said the man threatened to shoot her.
