“A Funny Thing Happened On the Way To the Forum,SDRq directed by Adam Day Howard, Salem Community Theatre, 490 E. State St.,, auditions 6:30 p.m. Sunday and Monday. Needed are mostly men (11 or more) of various ages, 20 to 60, plus three or four women. Auditionees should come with a song prepared (accompanist will be provided), and be ready to read from a script and interact with other actors. There is little or no choreography in the show, so there will be no dance audition, although a general sense of rhythm is desirable. Performances are Oct. 24 though Nov. 9. “The Sound of Music,SDRq directed by Jim McKim, New Castle Playhouse, 202 E. Long Ave., New Castle, Pa., auditions 6 to 8 p.m. Sept. 7 and 8 in the theater. Roles available for kindergarten through adult. Actors are asked to be prepared to sing a vocal selection and provide sheet music for the accompanist; auditionees may also sing a capella or use an accompaniment CD with no vocal track.
