Small fire extinguished at shuttered Liberty motel

LIBERTY — Three fire departments worked to put out a small fire at an abandoned motel behind the Metroplex on Belmont Avenue this afternoon.

Liberty police said they did not know how the fire, in a room on the second floor of the two-story motel, started. No one was in the building, they said.

Liberty, Youngstown and Girard responded.
