Another business is seeking to use Liberty Township’s Belmont Avenue Community Reinvestment Area property-tax exemption to start up or expand.

Today, the Trumbull County commissioners are expected to approve a 49 percent, 10-year tax exemption filed by Rubin Properties LLC for CR Electric Inc., 1280 Trumbull Ave.

CR Electric’s present operations and proposed expansion are both on Trumbull Avenue, just west of Belmont Avenue, and fall within the jurisdiction of the Belmont Avenue reinvestment area, said Dave Dubiaga of the Trumbull County Planning Commission.

The company is proposing construction of a large office building and shop building on 4.37 vacant acres near the existing CR Electric building, Dubiaga said.

The expansion will result in hiring of three full-time workers in the first year and five more in the second year, bringing the company’s employment to 35.

The company expects construction to occur soon after the commissioners approve the tax exemption, Dubiaga said.

Another business that received the property tax exemption recently is the 90-room Comfort Suites hotel to be located on Belmont Avenue in the location formerly occupied by the Ramada Inn.

Another company received the same exemption for a Dunkin’ Donuts restaurant on Belmont Avenue.
