Bank pays parking

Bank pays parking

youngstown

Home Savings has paid for all of the parking meters that surround the Youngstown State University campus for the first week of classes, through Friday. This is the third year that Home Savings has paid for parking meters to welcome YSU students back to school and to save them time in the first week when life may seem more chaotic than usual.

“As a local bank, we are always looking for ways to give back in the communities that we serve,” said Colleen Scott, vice president of marketing. “We wanted to do something for the faculty and students of YSU to show them how important they are to us. We had such a great response from the University and the community when we did this the last two years, we wanted to continue the tradition.”

Disorderly conduct

YOUNGSTOWN

A man found passed out at Market Street and East Earle Avenue about 6 p.m. Sunday was charged with disorderly conduct after he was belligerent with police and paramedics trying to help him.

Police were called to the intersection for a report of a man passed out on the sidewalk and found 60-year-old Roosevelt Humlett of West Warren Avenue unconscious. When paramedics tried to revive him, he swore at them and accused them of lying when they told him he was passed out on the sidewalk. He then made a threatening gesture toward police and was subsequently cited.

Reports said he was released to his son, who was called to the scene.
