WARREN TOWNSHIP

Two motor-vehicle accidents in the Mahoning Valley injured eight people over the weekend.

Two people were injured when they were ejected during a single-car crash on North Park Avenue just south of North River Road at 4:43 p.m. Saturday.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol said the vehicle was northbound on North Park when it failed to negotiate a curve, traveling off the right side of the road, then overcorrected left, overturning on the west side of North Park.

Neither passenger was wearing a seat belt. The vehicle came to rest in a ditch. One of the victims was taken to St. Joseph Health Center, the other to ValleyCare Trumbull Memorial Hospital.

A dispatcher said Sunday night she was unable to provide the names of the victims or any other information about them.

Meanwhile, six people suffered minor injuries after a two-vehicle crash at Mahoning Avenue and state Route 534 in Lake Milton on Saturday night.

The Vindicator’s broadcast partner, 21 WFMJ-TV reported that a Chevy Impala driven by Daniel Mazzei, 46, of Youngstown, collided with a truck about 8:30 p.m.

Mazzei’s vehicle had three passengers, Renee Wills, 48, Ashley Ciavarella, 27, and a 9-year-old boy.

The driver of the truck was Megan Quimby, 22, of Lake Milton. Her passenger was Joseph Quimby of Lake Milton. All six people were taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center.

Megan Quimby has been charged with failure to yield at an intersection. Drugs and alcohol are not suspected in the crash.
