Fundraiser to aid those with disorder

There will be a fundraiser at Imbibe Martini Bar on Sept. 5 to raise awareness for a rare genetic mutation — KCNQ2.

It is to help families travel to a Summit in Denver next month for KCNQ2.

This summit will allow families to connect with specialists, geneticists and each other.

The fundraiser was started for a 4-year-old local girl named Gwenyth McGarry, who has the genetic condition.

Donations for gift baskets and gift cards for auctions are due by Friday.

Also needed are food platter donations for the event to serve guests.
