Drug charges pending in Campbell for Lorain couple

Two Lorain residents answered to drug-possession charges Friday in Campbell Municipal Court.

Carlos Morales, 51, and Terry Morales, 53, both of McKinley Avenue, were arrested after police found on them a marijuana cigarette totaling 0.2 grams, one opened and eight unopened Suboxone packages, a pain patch, six acetaminophen with codeine pills and $302 in cash.

Terry Morales’ next court date is Aug. 22, and her bond was set at $10,000, 10 percent cash or surety.

Carlos Morales will appear in court Dec. 5., and his bond was set at $2,500, 10 percent cash or surety.

Shortly before 2 p.m. Thursday, police stopped a car driven by Carlos Morales at the intersection of Wilson and Palmer avenues for having an obstructed front license plate and objects hanging from his rearview mirror.

Another car pulled behind Carlos Morales’ during the stop; the female driver, who turned out to be Terry Morales, said she was Carlos Morales’ wife.

According to a report, Carlos Morales appeared nervous, and began fidgeting and had trouble paying attention to officers.

A police dog then sniffed outside the Morales’ cars and alerted officers to the presence of drugs.
