Mercer Co. road closed Sunday and Monday

OIL CITY, Pa. — Pa. Route 18 on the Shenango River causeway in Mercer County is scheduled to be closed from 10 p.m. Sunday until 6 a.m. Monday due to construction activities.

The road closure is required for installation of a new girder as part of the bridge rehabilitation project. The work is weather dependent and work will be postponed and rescheduled if conditions require.

A detour will be posted using Route 18, Route 518, Route 846 and Rutledge Road (Route 3022).

Pennsylvania Department of Transportation urges motorists to slow down when driving in work zones, and also to be alert to changing conditions, avoid distractions and to pay attention to signs and flaggers.
