Loud music leads to drug charges for Girard man


YOUNGSTOWN — A Girard man told police who pulled him over on the West Side for loud music Thursday afternoon that he was trying to break his speakers.

Instead, he was taken to the Mahoning County jail on drug charges.

Reports said Shawn Roman, 24, was pulled over just before 4 p.m. at Mahoning and Richview avenues for loud music and he admitted his music was loud, saying he was trying to break his speakers.

Reports said the officer noticed Roman jamming his hands in his pockets and when asked he admitted to having marijuana and pills.

The officer searched him and found a bag of marijuana and a bag with 17 pills inside.

Roman was taken to the jail on charges of possession of dangerous drugs, possession of marijuana and loud music.
