Spanish Heritage Festival this weekend

The fourth annual Youngstown Spanish Heritage Festival will be this weekend on East Federal Street, between Wick and Champion streets, downtown. Hours are 7 to 11 p.m. Friday, noon to 11 p.m. Saturday and noon to 8 p.m. Sunday.

The family-friendly festival will include live entertainment, food, crafts, dance and activities for all ages.

It will start with a bike night at 7 p.m. Friday that will serve as a fundraiser for the Rich Center for Autism. Entertainment will be provided by DJ Eddie followed by the band Grupo Mambo Caliente. Admission will be $5 Friday and $2 Saturday and Sunday (free for children under 12 with an adult; no one under 18 will be allowed to enter without an adult).

On Saturday, festivities will begin at noon with radio station WCRL 1540 La Nueva Mia Tropical broadcasting live. Activities will include a performance by the bands Trio Riqueno, Labra Brothers and Tonio Rivera y Sus Latinos, a fashion show by Tu Tu beauties, DJ music and Guerreras De Adoracion dancers.

Sunday’s highlights include wrestling, Spanish dancers, Mariachi music, a fashion show by CC Catore and Rumba.

There will be games, face painting and a bounce-around for children.

Puerto Rican, Mexican and American foods will be available.
