One person was seriously injured in a crash involving a motorcycle and a vehicle about 9:20 on Wednesday, according to Ohio State Highway Patrol dispatchers.
A vehicle and a motorcycle collided near the intersection of U.S. Route 224 and Hitchcock Road, resulting in a serious injury to the person on the motorcycle.
Passengers in the car were not injured.
The OSHP said traffic was not moving in either direction in that area.
The injured person was taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center.
Hit-and-run arrest
HOWLAND
Township police have arrested a suspect in a hit-and-run accident that occurred Wednesday morning.
The accident involving a silver Pontiac and a burgundy van took place in the 1700 block of Niles-Cortland Road, after which the driver of the van drove away.
The driver then hit the front steps of a house in the 7700 block of Raglan Drive, according to a police dispatcher.
The suspect, who according to 21 WFMJ-TV is 25-year-old Nick Gilmore, was arrested at the scene on Raglan.
Poker run, pasta meal

The second annual Mike Hull Memorial Poker Run and Pasta Dinner for Autism is Saturday beginning with registration at 11 a.m.
The Blessing of the Bikes is at 11:30 a.m.; the run begins at noon at the Dash Inn and ends at 5 p.m. at Strikers at Mahoning Valley Lanes, 2617 Mahoning Ave.
Proceeds will benefit the Autism Society of Ohio, Mahoning Valley Office.
The cost is $10 per person.
After the run, there will be live music entertainment and raffles. As a special bonus, kids can bowl for free from 3 to 5 p.m. at Mahoning Valley Lanes.

Miracle Treat Day
From 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. today, Dairy Queen is partnering with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals for the 30th year to help raise money for local children’s hospitals, including Akron Children’s Mahoning Valley.
More than 4,000 Dairy Queen across the U.S. are inviting guests to purchase a Blizzard.
Locally, DQ will donate $1 or more to Akron Children’s for every Blizzard bought at participating stores in Mahoning, Trumbull, Columbiana counties in Ohio and Mercer County in Pennsylvania.
Summer Crisis Program

The Trumbull Community Action Program, 1230 Palmyra Road SW, will operate its Summer Crisis Program, which provides air conditioners and/or payments on electric bills for income-eligible persons, through Aug. 31.
The income limit for a household of one is $20,442 annually; for two people, $27,527; and for three, $34,632. For households of four or more, add $7,105 for each additional person.
Income-eligible households also must be senior citizens over age 60, someone with a documented medical condition, or a household served by unregulated utilities with a disconnect notice.
