Campbell woman charged after dog bite

CAMPBELL

A 55-year-old Regent Street resident will appear in Campbell Municipal Court at 9 a.m. Tuesday on a minor-misdemeanor charge resulting from her dog getting loose and biting a neighbor.

Tonya D. Bartram was charged with dogs running at large, a minor-misdemeanor offense.

Shortly before 7 p.m. Wednesday, city police responded to a report of a dog bite in the area. According to a report, they were familiar with the area, because the dog in question and its owner had been involved in a previous dog bite incident.

The victim, a 55-year-old woman, said she'd seen the dog, a Jack Russell Terrier, running around yards and the street, and that she knew the dog had a vicious past. When the victim went to the owner's house to notify the owner, the dog bit her on the left rear calf, breaking the skin and causing it to bleed.

The dog warden was called to the scene. The victim sought medical treatment.
