UPDATE: Motorcyclist dies in Boardman crash
BOARDMAN — Our news partner 21 WFMJ-TV is reporting a 59-year old Poland man was killed in when his motorcycle collided with a Jeep in Boardman Township Wednesday night.
The Jeep and the motorcycle collided near the intersection of U.S. Route 224 and Hitchcock Road in Boardman.
According to the Ohio Highway Patrol, Anthony Scarnecchia was riding a Honda Goldwing motorcycle eastbound on U.S. 224 at around 9:22 p.m. when a Jeep Wrangler coming from the opposite direction turned into the path of the motorcycle as the Jeep attempted to turn south on to Hitchcock Road.
Scarnecchia was pronounced dead from his injuries at St. Elizabeth Medical Center. The 16-year-old girl from Youngstown who was driving the Jeep was not injured.
