Exhaust fan causes smoke at Lordstown GM, fire crews respond

LORDSTOWN

Fire crews responded to a report of smoke at General Motors Lordstown manufacturing plant at about 1:30 a.m. today.

Tom Mock, spokesman for the plant, said smoke was found on the second floor of the administration building and it did not impact production.

The source of the fire was said to be an exhaust fan. One of the bearings burned out and then some smoke came through the ventilation, Mock said.
