Youngstown Executive 408 Toastmasters Club member Stephanie Richman and Alex Mangie took first place at the club speech contest on Aug. 4 at Shepherd of the Valley in Poland.

Richman, its newest member, won first place in the Table Topics category. Contestants had one to two minutes to respond to a question that was not known ahead of time.

Mangie, club secretary, won first place for the Humorous Speech category for being the funniest speaker of the evening.

They will move on to compete in an area Toastmasters competition.

Richman teaches psychology at Westminster College, and Mangie is a certified public accountant for the Mahoning County Board of Elections.

Toastmasters International is a nonprofit educational organization that teaches public speaking and leadership skills through a worldwide network.
