State seizes gambling machines at Smith Township business
SMITH — Investigators with the state Attorney General’s office have seized 54 gambling machines from a 22184 Harrisburg-Westville Road business in Smith Township today, suspected of being an illegal casino.
A news release from state Attorney General Mike DeWine said search warrants were served at the business, which calls itself the House of Skills. The release said of the machines seized, 46 were operational.
The release said the business is suspected to have been giving cash payouts in violation of Ohio law. Games of skill are allowed but cash payouts are not, the release said.
An investigation began after township received several complaints about the business, the release said.
