Mark and Mary Ann Meyer of Boardman are announcing the engagement of their daughter, Christina Meyer, and Jeffrey Porter, both of Pasadena, Calif. His parents are John Porter and Marsha Porter, both in California.

The couple are planning a 12:30 p.m. ceremony Oct. 4 at The Barn & Gazebo in Salem, where a reception will immediately follow.

Invitations will be extended for both events.

The bride-to-be graduated from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh with a degree in culinary management.

She works in culinary development for Mobi Munch in Los Angeles.

Mr. Porter graduated from California Polytechnic State University with a degree in marketing.

He works as an operations manager and brand development for Mobi Munch.
