Dobsons mark 60th milestone at family picnic

NEW MIDDLETOWN
Mr. and Mr. Alton P. Dobson of New Middletown were honored for their 60th anniversary at an Aug. 9 picnic with family and friends at the residence of their son in New Middletown.
The couple’s children and their families hosted the surprise party: Terry (Lana) Dobson of New Middletown and Karen (Frank) Yankle of Canfield. A son, Alan Dobson, is deceased. They also have six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The couple belong to Zion Lutheran Church.
Mrs. Dobson worked for Dr. R. Mangie in Boardman as an advanced dental assistant. She retired in 2010. She belongs to 500 Card Club, Dogwood Garden Club, the church choir and Luther’s Table.
Mr. Dobson retired in 1988 as superintendent of Crestview School District. He belongs to Allen Masonic Lodge of Columbiana, Valley of Youngstown and Scottish Rite. He is a member of New Middletown Lions Club and its Farmers and Sportsmen Club.
Mr. Dobson married the former Peggy J. Deiley on Aug. 9, 1954, at Zion Lutheran Church in Brentwood, Pa.
