CLUB CALENDAR


ASSOCIATIONS

Yo-Mah-O Chapter of the International Association of Administrative Professionals will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Beard Cabin in Boardman Park. The evening will begin with dinner, followed by a program on “Travel Tips” by Mary Ann Dwyer from Tippecanoe Travel. Cost of the dinner will be $12. A business meeting will conclude the evening. CLASSES

South High School Class of 1957 will meet for lunch at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at TJ’s Restaurant in the Holiday Inn on South Avenue in Boardman. The club meets the second Wednesday of each month.

Woodrow Wilson High School January and June Classes of 1947 will meet for breakfast at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Denny’s in Boardman. Members of the classes of 1946 and 1948 also are welcome.

CLUBS

College Club of Sharon will have its first salon from 6 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Monday at Penn State Shenango Quad (in front of the library) in Sharon, Pa. Dr. Kathy Mastrian will present “Drum Circle,” a hands-on participatory event. Members and guests will use drums and Boomwhackers to strike tension and stress from their lives. Mahoning Valley Stamp Club will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at Highway Tabernacle, 3000 S. Raccoon Road, Austintown. The club meets the second Thursday of each month.

Western Reserve Amateur Radio Club will have its monthly meeting Aug. 19 at Davidson’s Restaurant, 3636 Canfield Road, Canfield. Dinner will be at 6 p.m., and the meeting will begin at 7. The speaker will be John Myers, KD8MQ, Affiliated Club Coordinator for the American Radio Relay League, who will discuss topics related to amateur radio. Transcendental Group will have its regular meeting at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Park Vista North Lounge, 1310 Fifth Ave., Youngstown. The program will explore the life of Raymond Moody, the psychiatrist credited with creating the term “near-death experience.”

Struthers Lions Club will have an informational meeting at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at DonaVito’s Italian Grille, 139 S. Bridge St. in Struthers. All service-minded men and women, 18 and older, are invited to attend. A Pilot Dog Program with a pilot dog in training will be presented.

D.A.R.E. Singles Group, which meets at Disciples Christian Church, 565 Boardman-Canfield Road, Boardman, has planned the following: Monday, walk in Mill Creek Park at 6:30 p.m., meet at Dr. Shah’s; Wednesday, volunteer from 5 to 7 p.m. at Second Harvest Food Bank; Thursday, picnic at 6 p.m. at Masters Pavilion in Boardman Park; and Aug. 15, Putt-Putt at 7 p.m. on Route 422 in Girard.

SOCIETIES

Salem Historical Society’s annual summer picnic will be Tuesday at the home of Phil and Marge Greenisen, 1904 Depot Road. Included will be information the Greenisens discovered when researching their century home, followed with a presentation by Carolyn Caldwell titled “Recognizing Your Historic Home.” Those attending should take a covered dish and table service.
