Campbell man faces multiple charges after traffic stop
CAMPBELL — Police arrested a 37-year-old Whipple Avenue man on a host of charges — including carrying a concealed weapon — during a late Tuesday traffic stop.
Norman A. Jones is scheduled to appear at 9 a.m. Friday in Campbell Municipal Court. Jones also is charged with illegal possession of a weapon, a felony; having an open container; possession of drugs; and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Police stopped the car in which Jones was a passenger for failing to stop at the intersection of 16th Street and Whipple. Jones immediately put his hands in the air and said, “It’s all mine,” according to a police report.
A search of the car produced a loaded .40-caliber handgun, a bag containing suspected marijuana and an open bottle of beer. Jones also has an active warrant out of Ashtabula County, police said.
