WARREN
The Trumbull County coroner has ruled that Mitchell Pruitt, 50, of 1570 Deerfield St. SW, died of multiple gunshot wounds and his death is a homicide.
Police were called to Pruitt’s home at 2:30 a.m. Tuesday by Pruitt’s girlfriend, who said she was walking to Pruitt’s house when she heard three gunshots. She found him unresponsive in the kitchen when she got there.
Police entered the home, found Pruitt and then checked but found no one else inside. Capt. Robert Massucci of the Warren Police Department said he had no other information to release.
Pruitt’s death is the fourth homicide of the year. He had been charged in Warren Municipal Court more than 20 times dating back to 2003 on a variety of misdemeanor charges, including those having to do with drugs, assault and traffic, but had no felony convictions in Trumbull County.
