Cops: Drunk got in police car with officers in back seat
PITTSBURGH
Pittsburgh police say a drunken woman tried to drive away in an unmarked police car — with two officers still inside.
According to a criminal complaint, 32-year-old Ria Buford got into the car about 2:15 a.m. Saturday outside a nightclub that was hosting a party after the Wiz Khalifa concert.
Police say she sat in the driver’s seat and told the two plainclothes officers in the back that she intended to drive the vehicle to where her own was parked.
Police say Buford was arrested before she could drive anywhere. A man who intervened in her arrest also was charged.
Online court records don’t list an attorney for Buford. She faces a preliminary hearing Thursday on charges of robbery of a motor vehicle, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness
Owners claim tortoise found strolling in suburb
ALHAMBRA, Calif.
A giant tortoise found ambling down a street in suburban Los Angeles has been reunited with its owners.
The Alhambra Police Department says a local family claimed the 150-pound reptile named Clark on Sunday, a day after it was spotted strolling on the street.
It took two officers to heft the creature into a patrol car so they could turn it over to animal-control authorities.
The department posted photos of Clark on its Facebook page in hopes of finding the owner and cracked a “Tortoise and Hare” joke about officers capturing the reptile after a brief pursuit.
No word yet on how far the tortoise had gone from home when it was caught.
A call to a police spokesman wasn’t immediately returned.

The boys have been charged in Montgomery County Juvenile Court.
The township is in the Philadelphia suburbs, northwest of the city.
