Major power outage reported along South Avenue

YOUNGSTOWN — Ohio Edison crews are grappling with a power outages on South Avenue.

The outage runs from the intersection with Front Street to Midlothian Boulevard.

David Turner, area manager of Mahoning County, said there are six separate outages all centered on a substation on South Avenue. He said a cause is not known yet.

About 5,000 customers are affected, Turner said.
