Woman killed in western Pa. motorcycle accident

SHENAGO TOWNSHIP, Pa.

A Mercer County woman died after a vehicle struck the motorcycle on which she was a passenger Saturday in Crawford County.

Tracey Mittlestadt, 47, of Hadley, Pa., was killed when the motorcycle, driven by Walter Mittlestadt, 53, of Hadley, was struck by a car driven by Steven Brown of Hartstown, Pa., on U.S. 322 in Shenango Township, according to The Vindicator’s broadcast partner, 21 WFMJ-TV.

The vehicle struck the rear of the motorcycle. Tracey Mittlestadt was pronounced dead at the scene, and Walter Mittlestadt was transported to a hospital in Greenville with unspecified injuries.

Both lanes of U.S. 322 were closed for six hours due to the crash, and the Pennsylvania State Police in Meadville, Pa., are investigating.
