A parade in observance of National Night Out will form at 5:30 p.m. and step off at 6:30 Tuesday at Springfield High School on state Route 170 and end at St. Paul’s Church on Main Street.

It will be followed by a cookout at the village municipal building. National Night Out is the nation’s largest annual crime-prevention effort.

Driver’s license reinstatement

Mahoning County child- support debtors may get their suspended driver’s licenses reinstated during August for payment of one month’s support plus $1 on the arrears and a $25 reinstatement fee. Debtors can arrange for reinstatement by visiting the county Child Support Enforcement Agency, 345 Oak Hill Ave., between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. weekdays.

5K in Brookfield set for Saturday

BROOKFIELD

Brookfield Auto Parts LLC is sponsoring the Brookfield 5K run Saturday.

The race begins at 9:30 a.m. (registration opens at 8 a.m.) at Brookfield Center Green, the intersection of state Route 7 and Grove Street in Brookfield. Second Sole will provide card timing for quick, accurate results of the race.

The race kicks off the Brookfield United Methodist Church Summer Fest on the Green, which continues Sunday.

Veterans location closed for training

YOUNGSTOWN

MThe ahoning County Veterans Service Commission office at Oakhill Renaissance Place, 345 Oak Hill Ave., will be closed Friday for employee education and training.

It also was announced that the commission’s Aug. 13 and 27 meetings have been canceled.
