Gathering Place will take place at 11 a.m. Aug. 11 at Lord of Life Church, 550 N. Broad St., Canfield. The program will include lunch with an optional donation, meal planning for singles/couples, food demonstrations and games. Guardian Angels of Ohio, a volunteer guardianship program of Trumbull County Probate Court, is looking for new volunteers. The next monthly meeting will be at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at Perkins Family Restaurant, 1953 Niles-Cortland Road SE. Angels reach out in friendship to people who are elderly and alone in Trumbull County by providing trained, qualified volunteers to serve as advocates. Angels also are involved in planning special events for seniors, such as health fairs and Make a Difference Day projects. Niles SCOPE Senior Center, 14 E. State St., will start a continuing series of laptop computer classes from 9 to 10 a.m. every Friday morning, starting Friday. Students must take laptop computers. The topic will be “Using The Control Panel”. The cost is $2 per class. Free time will be available from 10 to 11 a.m. for questions. The topic Aug. 15 will be “Internet”. Trumbull County Senior Court AARP Driver’s Safety Program offers a certified instructor to provide a review of driving skills and techniques as well as strategies to help seniors adjust to physical changes that may affect their driving ability. The cost is $15 for AARP members and $20 for nonmembers. Class will be held at the St. Joseph Health Center at the Eastwood Mall from 8 a.m. to noon Aug. 11.
